Hot Dog!

Okay . . .I don't eat hot dogs very often, and if I do, it has to be a Vienna dog. If Vienna isn't available, it has to be Kosher . . . yep . . . I'm picky that way.

Happens Every Year

Yep . . .every year, Terry Medaris comes out from Arizona to teach his colored pencil classes. . . and for at least a month after, all I want to do is color.

I use my pencils quite often . . . I just don't usually spend lots of time blending and shading and blending some more . . . but I have been over the last week or so. . .

See? Here's a card:
What I used:

Beehive stamp from Impression Obsession
PrismaColor Pencils - Sunburst Yellow, Terra Cotta, Yellow Ochre, Light Umber, Dark Brown, Limepeel, Kelp Green, Tuscan Red, White, and Dark Purple
Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink
Candleglow Medium and Classic Purple Cardstock by Prism
Gold Swirl Ribbon

After coloring the image, I used the Stardust pen to add some sparkle to the bee's wings and the . . . um . . . dots (?) on the beehive. I then applied a thin layer of Crystal Lacquer on the dots (?) for a bit of dimension.

Make a Wish - ETA

It's that time again! Time for new projects at the Creation Station. Here's one of the three projects that was available for creation last month:

What I used:

Stamps: Dandie Trio by Stampendous; 'Make a Wish' by Memory Box

Cardstock: Birchtone Medium and Island Mist Medium by Prism

Patterned Paper by Memory Box

Inks: VersaMark, Oasis Green VersaMagic, Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. The picture didn't pick up the Iridescent EP that was added to the fluffy part of the Dandelions. I used the VersaMarker to get the EP right where I wanted it.

The new projects will be available 04/16/08 - 05/15/08.

Play with Paints

I love my new brushes . . .I love my paints . . .I've been "plainting!" (Plainting = playing + painting).

Here are the first few "justapplypaintstothepagesandseewhathappensbecausethatishowthisjourneyisgoingtohappen" pages.
I've had a few mishaps. . . I hate to say "mistakes" because I keep hearing over and over again that there are no rules in art. . . but, mishaps indeed!
One of those pages actually resembled something similar to a poopy diaper . . .alas, I jumped over to the Land of Lost Luggage and the remedy was there!

Thank you Julie for your inspiration, tutorials, tips, and encouragement!

Cruisin' Grand Begins

Here in Escondido, we have Cruisin' Grand nights every Friday beginning in April all the way through September.

I was soooooo excited when I found Puttin' on the Ritz rubber stamps! They have a bunch of classic car stamps. Soooooo . . .I ordered a few and made up some samples (fine, I admit it . . . I was finishing them up last night) for my window.

Here are two that are done . . .I still have bits and pieces of a few more and will post those when I'm done.
Debbie made a few cool cards using the Woody stamp. You can see them right here. Her colored pencil work is amazing.
Thanks for stopping by today!
