Another Ocean Critter

Ahem . . . told ya I like the ocean themed stamps from Impression Obsession. And this one . . .well, I'm quite fond of it because both my hubby and I are Cancerians. (I know, I know . . . Cancers technically aren't supposed to be compatible at all, but for whatever reason we are and I am blessed to have such a wonderful hubby.)

On to the card:

What I used:

Ocean Crab from Impression Obsession
Wavy Border from Impression Obsession (By the Seaside clear set)
Onyx Black VersaFine ink
Summer Sky Memento ink
Brilliant White, Classic Red and Nautical Blue Light Cardstock by Prism

May I Introduce . . .

. . . Sprout.

Is he not so cute? Sprout is from Eat Cake Graphics. He is very curious and playful . . .and is just learning how to use those wings of his . . .

See? He wouldn't sit still for the camera . . . hence the odd angles of the pictures. . . .
But alas . . . he's just so stinkin' cute, that you really can't be upset with him for long, can you?

Details for "Hello Friend":

Stamps by Eat Cake Graphics and Hero Arts
Cardstock by Prism (Brilliant White, Classic Yellow Green, Frosted Kiwi) and A2Z Essentials
Gemstones by Hero Arts
VersaFine Onyx Black ink
PrismaColor Pencils: Apple Green, Spring Green, Cloudy Blue, Blue Lake, Blush Pink, Peach, Beige, and White

Details for "Play":

Cardstock by Prism - Brilliant White, Black, Classic Yellow Green
VersaFine Onyx Black Ink
PrismaColor Pencils: same as "Hello Friend" card
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder
Created a mask by stamping the film strip first on cardstock and on a piece of scrap paper (text weight works best for me). From the scrap paper, I cut out the 'windows' using a craft knife; placed the mask over the original film strip image and stamped Sprout at various angles inside the 'windows'

Swingin' Time!

Another monkey! Isn't he ever so cute? Look closely . . .can you see that he's fuzzy? That's the new Fun Flock . . . I think I have (another) new addiction . . .
Here's a side view . . . kinda made me dizzy looking at it this way, but at least the "fuzzy" is more visible.

What I used:

Changito Tire Swing & "Swingin' Time" by Stampendous
Intense Kiwi & Classic Blue Cardstock by Prism
Patterned Cardstock by A2Z
Onyx Black VersaFine Ink
Caramel Latte Tan Fun Flock
Glue Pen
Gemstones by Hero Arts
PrismaColor pencils: Blush Pink, Beige, Light Peach, Sienna Brown, Dark Brown, Warm Gray (20%, 50%, and 70%) and Indigo Blue*
Corner Rounder

*A tip I learned from Terry Medaris when he was here teaching . . . use Indigo Blue and Tuscan Red as "black." I used just a bit of Indigo Blue on the tire for shading around Changito's face . . .

Happens Every Year

Yep . . .every year, Terry Medaris comes out from Arizona to teach his colored pencil classes. . . and for at least a month after, all I want to do is color.

I use my pencils quite often . . . I just don't usually spend lots of time blending and shading and blending some more . . . but I have been over the last week or so. . .

See? Here's a card:
What I used:

Beehive stamp from Impression Obsession
PrismaColor Pencils - Sunburst Yellow, Terra Cotta, Yellow Ochre, Light Umber, Dark Brown, Limepeel, Kelp Green, Tuscan Red, White, and Dark Purple
Vintage Sepia VersaFine ink
Candleglow Medium and Classic Purple Cardstock by Prism
Gold Swirl Ribbon

After coloring the image, I used the Stardust pen to add some sparkle to the bee's wings and the . . . um . . . dots (?) on the beehive. I then applied a thin layer of Crystal Lacquer on the dots (?) for a bit of dimension.

Cruisin' Grand Begins

Here in Escondido, we have Cruisin' Grand nights every Friday beginning in April all the way through September.

I was soooooo excited when I found Puttin' on the Ritz rubber stamps! They have a bunch of classic car stamps. Soooooo . . .I ordered a few and made up some samples (fine, I admit it . . . I was finishing them up last night) for my window.

Here are two that are done . . .I still have bits and pieces of a few more and will post those when I'm done.
Debbie made a few cool cards using the Woody stamp. You can see them right here. Her colored pencil work is amazing.
