How to:

Bonjour!

Here's one of the projects from last month's Creation Station.
The background was created using Distress Inks . . . you know, the "smoosh" technique and then I stamped over that using stamps from Memory Box and American Art Stamps. The Hydrangea tag is from Impression Obsession. The sash, flowers and butterflies were watercolored using Distress Inks, too.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tagged!

Okey dokey! I'm back at work . . .er, play. . . whatever.

I did play hooky on Tuesday . . . a lovely day . . .haven't done that in a while. Got to go to the dentist and get my chompers cleaned . . .I love going to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned. . . I actually look forward to it every six months. I know . . .I'm weird that way.

So, I finally got around to applying ink to paper . . .gotta have color swatches at the store, ya know . . .so here's a picture of the new Adirondack Pigment Ink pads. See how rich and saturated the colors are? I really, really like these pads . . .especially since they coordinate so well together. . .and yes, the white writing is the new Inkssentials White pen. (love it!)
And here's a picture of the new Memento Dye Based ink pads (although, I am missing three colors . . .but I'll be adding them). I do like these ink pads . . .the color palette is fresh and they work well direct to paper and with stamps . . .even clear stamps. Some of the lighter colors seemed to bubble up a bit on a clear stamp, but overall . . . .not too shabby! And, perhaps this is in my head, but they do seem to have a slight fragrance to them . . .not overpowering . . .kinda florally-sweet . . .
Enough babbling . . .I gotta get back to work . . .er, play . . . whatever.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Here's a super quick and easy card:
Just stamp the sheep, highlight the bee and bird with pencils, doodle a border, mount to orange cardstock and trim with pinking shears, mount to teal card, stamp sentiment, add bling and . . . Viola! Done!
Although . . . now that I have White Fun Flock, I'm thinkin' that sheep should be fuzzy, too!
What I used:

Fresh New Day clear set by Penny Black
Bracket & Swirl Messages by Hero Arts
Onyx Black VersaFine
Intense Orange & Vibrant Teal cardstock by Prism
Fine Tip Black Pen
Clear Gemstones by Hero Arts
Pinking Shears
PrismaColor pencils

Have a Happy Day!

Swingin' Time!

Another monkey! Isn't he ever so cute? Look closely . . .can you see that he's fuzzy? That's the new Fun Flock . . . I think I have (another) new addiction . . .
Here's a side view . . . kinda made me dizzy looking at it this way, but at least the "fuzzy" is more visible.

What I used:

Changito Tire Swing & "Swingin' Time" by Stampendous
Intense Kiwi & Classic Blue Cardstock by Prism
Patterned Cardstock by A2Z
Onyx Black VersaFine Ink
Caramel Latte Tan Fun Flock
Glue Pen
Gemstones by Hero Arts
PrismaColor pencils: Blush Pink, Beige, Light Peach, Sienna Brown, Dark Brown, Warm Gray (20%, 50%, and 70%) and Indigo Blue*
Corner Rounder

*A tip I learned from Terry Medaris when he was here teaching . . . use Indigo Blue and Tuscan Red as "black." I used just a bit of Indigo Blue on the tire for shading around Changito's face . . .

Yahoo!!

The NEW Adirondack Pigment ink pads are here!
And of course, I had to bring a few home to test them out.

What?. . . it's a new product . . .I've gotta try them so I can speak intelligently about them, right? (see how I justify bringing stuff home with me?)

Okey dokey . . .I don't have pics yet because, really, all I did was test each color on a piece of scrap paper. BUT, here's what I did find:

1. The ink pads are FULLY loaded with ink
2. The pad itself is nice and firm (makes inking a stamp easy. . .no pounding necessary)
3. There are plastic covers under the lid . . .keep them. Although, I had one or two that took a little bit of elbow grease to remove. Be patient . . a tug this way, a pull that way and it will release.
4. These inks stamp beautifully! Rich, saturated color! Even the Snow Cap showed up well on Chocolate Brown, Dark Olive Green and Light Peachy cardstock.
5. Being a pigment ink, it dried quite fast, too!

Once again Ranger has introduced a very high quality product . . .but, did I really need to say that? High Quality is what they're about!

Gotta have 'em? Click here to order!

Next . . .I'll be testing out the NEW Memento Ink Pads from Tsukineko . . stay tuned!
